Licensing & Billing
How do I create a license request file?
In the Viesus Viewer, you can create a license request file via Help > Create License Request in the toolbar.
How do I get a valid software key for Viesus?
Usually, we will provide you with a valid software key (license key file), along with the software library, after you have purchased a Viesus license.
But since the Viesus license is bound to the hardware it was activated on, you might need to update your license key file after you have made changes to your computer or server.
Steps for renewing a software key (license key file):
Please follow these steps to retrieve your software key (license key file) and to authorize your license:
- Create a license request file in the Viesus Viewer
- Send the license request file to info@viesus.com
- We will reply to you with a new license key file
- Authorize your license with the license key file in the Viesus Viewer
Features
What are Global Corrections?
Global Corrections correct the overall conditions of an image, like overexposure, underexposure or color casts.
What are Local Corrections?
Local Corrections are specific image corrections that are only applied where needed in the subject.
Informed by the Viesus AI Image Analysis, local corrections include the specific correction of shadows, highlights, skin colors and sharpness as well as red eye correction and the adaptive brightness of faces (Adaptive Face Flash).
What is AI Artifacts Removal?
Viesus AI Artifact Removal removes unwanted JPEG compression artifacts and other possible render errors from an image to achieve smooth color gradients and edges.
Viesus Artifacts Removal is commonly used together with Viesus AI Upscaling.
What is AI Image Analysis?
AI Image Analysis is the first step in Viesus Image Enhancement.
AI Image Analysis determines the composition of an image and the conditions of the subject, like image content and colors (i.e. people and skin color, sky, vegetation, etc.) as well as the image setting (indoor, outdoor, existing back light, etc.).
The data of the AI Image Analysis is used as an input for the subsequent enhancement steps to inform the detailed image processing for the best overall result of the correction.
What is AI Image Upscaling?
Viesus AI Image Upscaling increases the size and resolution of an image by "inventing" new pixels to fill in image details.
Upscaling is also commonly referred to as super resolution.
Additionally to the upscaling of an image, Viesus can apply additional enhancement steps, such as AI Artifacts Removal or AI Facial Reconstruction to improve the result of the upscaling even more.
What is AI Super Resolution?
The term AI super resolution refers to the Viesus feature AI Image Upscaling.
What is Facial Reconstruction?
Viesus AI Facial Reconstruction restores the faces from low resolution images by filling in facial details that would otherwise be lost.
AI Facial Reconstruction is commonly used together with AI Upscaling.
Software Versions
Is Viesus 10 slower than Viesus 9?
Viesus 10 uses various methods for image analysis and optimization, which are based on artificial intelligence algorithms.
AI algorithms take more initial loading time on the first image, than traditional image processing algorithms.
If you edit a single image in the Viesus Viewer, then the initialization of the AI algorithms will have more weight. When you process multiple images in a batch, then the initial loading time will be spread across the processing of all images.
Additionally, the processing power of your computer system will have an impact on processing time.
Newer processors will be faster with AI algorithms.
What is the difference between Viesus 9 and Viesus 10?
Viesus 10 includes new features for AI image enhancement, such as:
- AI Image Upscaling
- AI Facial Reconstruction
- AI Artifacts Removal
Due to the AI features, Viesus 10 has a higher demand in processing power and requires one or more Graphic Processing Units (GPU) to run with high performance.
