Setting up network processing

The easiest and fastest way to setup a trial for Viesus with network processing, is to install Viesus on a Windows server and to provide hotfolders in a shared network for file processing.

Through the hotfolders, your team can easily test the image and PDF processing capabilities of Viesus.

Additionally, the Viesus Viewer on the Windows server can be used to try out and configure the Viesus enhancement parameters.

Installation​

For this setup, I will provide you with two installation files, which need to be installed in the following order:

1. “VIESUS_Viewer_Setup_3.00.06_VIESUS_9.03.03_x64.exe” will install:

  • Viesus Viewer: For testing and configuring Viesus enhancement parameters.
  • Viesus CLI: For scripting & automation
  • Viesus Folder Enhancer: For folder processing
  • Viesus License Tool: For license activation

2. “VIESUS_PDFEnhancer_4.02.01_VIESUS_9.03.03.exe” will install:

  • Viesus PDF Enhancer: Extension to process PDF files with the Folder Enhancer or CLI.

Please note that you don’t need to fill in any information for the license server in the installation dialog of the Viesus Viewer.

Please perform a server restart after you have installed the Viesus Viewer and the Viesus PDF Enhancer.

License​

For the trial license, you need to create a license request key and send it to raphael@viesus.com or info@viesus.com.

Please open the Viesus License tool and click “Create License Request File”.

We will return a “License Activation Key”, with which you can activate the Viesus trial via “Activate with License File”.

Processing​

Now you can create the following folders on your server, configure the Viesus Folder Enhancer to use them as source and destination folders for Image and PDF processing and share them in the network.

  • Viesus_PDF_Input

  • Viesus_PDF_Output

  • Viesus_Image_Input

  • Viesus_Image_Output

After you have started the Viesus Folder Enhancer with the “Start” button, the input folders can be used for file processing.

Please note that the files that are put into any of the input folders will be removed after processing!

The processed results will be output to the corresponding output folder.

Therefore, please only use file copies for processing!
